Jean A. Waltenbaugh

Jean A. Waltenbaugh, 86, of Shelocta, PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 04, 2025 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born April 7, 1938 to Blair A. and Viola E. (Ramer) Frailey in Plumcreek Township, PA.

Jean was a 1956 graduate of Elderton High School. She was previous employed with Cunningham Meats. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church of Gastown and a volunteer at the Helping Hand Center in Rural Valley. Jean enjoyed spending time with her family; they were her most cherished treasure. Jean loved sharing Sunday dinners with her family and her door was always open to everyone.

Her memory will be cherished by her son, R. Duwane Waltenbaugh and his wife, Sharon of Creekside, PA; daughters, Diane S. Buterbaugh of Sagamore and Darla J. Livengood and husband, Mitch of Shelocta; grandsons, Nicholas Lute and wife, Kelly, Scott Lute and wife, Racheal, Curtis Waltenbaugh and wife, Raquel, and Jason Livengood and wife Kayla; great-grandchildren, Keegan Lute, Gage and Gradyn Waltenbaugh, Ella and Bella Livengood; her sister, Maxine Drenkhahn of Rural Valley.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald E. Waltenbaugh, whom she married on April 5, 1957 and who passed away on Aug. 31, 2005; son-in-law, Dennis Buterbaugh, sister, Betty Jane Dixon, and a brother-in-law, Jerry Drenkhahn.

Friends will be received from 11 AM until the time of the funeral services at 12 PM on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025 at the Christ Lutheran Church, 205 Gastown Road, Shelocta, PA 15774, with the Rev. Joyce Dix-Weiers, STS officiating.

Burial will be in Elderton Cemetery, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.
