Christine Marie (Wranich) Schall

Christine Marie (Wranich) Schall, 106, went home to be with the Lord on March 14, 2024 at Grey's Colonial Acres in Kittanning, Pa.

She was born in Clarion County, Pa. on October 13, 1917 to Nicholas and Jane (Best) Wranich. She married Earl H. Schall on November 19, 1938.

Christine was a very active member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Kittanning, and was deeply involved in its ministry by being a member of several committees and teaching Sunday School. Her greatest joy came from being involved with the church's children. Christine and her husband also went on Christian mission trips to Haiti to help with building churches and schools for the Haitians.

Christine was well known for her cottage industry of baking specialty pies and cakes. She was involved with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts where she became an Eagle Scout mother. Christine was also involved with Meals on Wheels and was a co-founder of the Armstrong Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

Christine and her husband enjoyed traveling, going on several cruises and traveling extensively throughout the US by RV.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Earl, who died April 17, 2005, and her son David E. Schall who died October 17, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her brothers James, Bill, Albert and George, and sisters Rose Reefer, Helen Lucas and Ann Perusek.

Christine is survived by her daughter Mary (Blair) Dawson of Kittanning, Pa., daughter-in-law Judy (Black) Schall of Punta Gorda, FL., granddaughter Heather (Chris) Wilkerson of Parkton, NC, grandson Jonathan (Melissa) Schall of Middletown, VA.; and five great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Donald Wranich of Kittanning, Pa., and sisters Dorothy Jones of Greenwich, NJ, Laura "Dee" Uber of Bridgeton, NJ, Loretta (Don) McCutcheon of Shelocta, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 218 North Jefferson St., Kittanning, Pa.

Friends and family will be received from 9 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 218 N. Jefferson St., Kittanning, PA 16201 with Rev. Carl A. Johnson officiating.

Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA.
