May Bell Smith
May Bell Smith, 93, of Templeton, PA, formerly of Rimersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning, PA.She was born September 24, 1932 in West Monterey, Clarion Co., PA to Edward P. and Irene S. (Goldinger) Fair.
May Bell grew up in Clarion County and was a 1952 graduate of Union Joint High School in Rimersburg, PA. She was also a long-time former resident of Kittanning. She was also employed for 15 years as a seamstress at the former Big River Manufacturing Co. After remarrying in June 2008, she moved to Rimersburg and began attending the New Athens Church of God of Prophecy. May Bell found solitude in reading the Bible and enjoyment in doing craft work. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and her family will never forget her devotion to them.
She is survived by her daughters, Helen L. Shaffer, of Ford City, Debra D. Bennett and husband, Ronald, of Templeton and Jane M. Zimmerman of Ford City; sons, Jay Leo Toy of Kittanning, Allen I. Lamison and wife, Amber, Williamsburg, VA and Edward T. Lamison and wife, Corrinea, of Sarver; step sons, Terry L. Lamison and wife, Maria, of San Diego, CA and Joseph R. Smith and wife, Linda of Rimersburg; step daughter, Pam Yount and husband, Charles, of Ford City; numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and a few great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Thomas Leroy Toy, Sr. who died January 13, 1996, George A. Lamison, who died March 28, 2003, and Omer Smith who died Oct. 15, 2022; son, Thomas L. "Bud" Toy, Jr.; daughter, Ida Mae Wright; step sons, George A. and Richard Lamison; step-daughter, Sandra Lamison; brothers, Paul G. Fair, James Lloyd Fair and Edward J. Fair; half-brother, Delmer Fair; sisters, Helen Mae Fair, Ruth S. Van-Buran, and G. Marie Koch; half-sisters, Betty Jane Hyde, Edna Bowser, Florence Baranski and Lois Barger; and special friends for many years James and Joy Brison.
Friends will be received from 11 AM until the time of services at 1 PM on Monday, June 8, 2026 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, PA 16201 with the Pastor Dale Gallo officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in May Bell's memory to the New Athens Church of God of Prophecy, 24 Traister Rd, Rimersburg, PA 16248.
Interment will be at Pine Creek Baptist Cemetery, Rayburn Twp., Armstrong Co, PA.
