Dorothy Mae Miller Smyth

Dorothy Mae Miller Smyth, 86, of Clarion, PA, formerly of South Bethlehem, PA, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Clarion.

She was born May 24, 1930 in Rimer Hill, PA, the daughter of Paul J. and Freida (Brumberg) Unger.

Dorothy was a lifelong resident of the area and dedicated her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates. She also loved working in her gardens, creating beautiful craft pieces and spending time with her pet canary, Tony, which brought her great joy. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Sandra Stormer, of New Bethlehem; son, Gary "Butch" Miller and wife, Kim, of Brownwood, TX; grandchildren, Aaron Stormer and wife, Amanda, of Sligo, Tanya Stormer, of Hartsville, SC, Chris Miller, of Jamestown, NY, and Tessa Hawkins, of Texas; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Judy Miller and husband, Carl, of Plevna, MO.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Lowell Smyth, whom she married December 18, 1978 and who died May 10, 1997; great-granddaughter, Nicole; brothers, William and Robert Unger; and sister, Shirley Bobbish.

Visitation will be from 11 AM until the time of funeral services at 1 PM on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main St., Rimersburg, with the Rev. Mark Deeter officiating.

Burial will be in Kellersburg Methodist Cemetery, Templeton, PA.
