Barbara R. Snyder

Barbara R. Snyder, 81, of Indiana, PA, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Beacon Ridge, Indiana.

She was born January 30, 1934, in Upshur County, WV, the daughter of David Scott and Cleo (Henderson) Ours.

Following graduation from Buckhannon-Upshur High School, Barbara attended West Virginia Wesleyan Collage majoring in education. Her true calling was taking care of her family and raising their five children. Throughout her life, she was active in church and sang in the church choir in Buckhannon, WV and was also a member of the Elderton Presbyterian Church. She loved playing piano and listening to classical music. Barbara enjoyed reading, building puzzles, gardening, and traveling. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 63 years, Orvil J. Snyder whom she married December 21, 1952; four sons, Richard Lynn Snyder and wife, Faye A. of Leonardtown, MD, James Allen Snyder and wife, Marsha of Bridgeport, WV, Russell Blaine Snyder of Martinsburg, WV, and Orvil J. Snyder, II and wife, Nancy of King of Prussia; two grandchildren, Brice Richard Snyder of Dover, NH, and Sara Snyder of Innwood, WV; and a brother, David Scott Ours and wife, Jeanne of Ashbury, VA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Scott Wayne Snyder; and a sister, Ruby Baxa.

At Barbara's request, services will be privately held.
