Harold "John" Bracken

Harold "John" Bracken, Sr., 70, of Kittanning, PA, died on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born February 1, 1945 in Aliquippa, PA to William and Evelyn (Boring) Bracken.

John worked for Atlas Van Lines as a truck driver until his retirement in 1989. His favorite hobby was working in his garden but also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

John's memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Ruth (Rawson) Bracken whom he married August 1, 1981; four sons, Harold John Bracken, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Hopewell, William Bracken, Sr. of Ford City, Charles Bracken and wife, Laurie of Ford City, George Bracken and fiance, Alicia Cousins of Kittanning; two daughters, Toni Bracken Starling of Imperial, and Evelyn Wannamaker of Pittsburgh; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Bracken and wife, Jeanette of Ford City, and James Bracken and wife, Margaret of Michigan; and three sisters, Beverly Jones of Kittanning, Elizabeth Bracken of Indiana, PA, and Evelyn McElravy of East Brady.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Bracken, Fred Bracken, Ernie Bracken, and Earlin Bracken; and one grandson, Lee Wannamaker III.

Friends will be received from 10 AM to noon on Monday, November 30, 2015, at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA, where funeral services will be held at noon with the Rev. David Blevins officiating.
