Gerald Franklin Schall

Gerald Franklin "Jerry" Schall, 70, of Shelocta, PA, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in Florida as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born October 23, 1944, in Warren, OH, the son of Frank and Betty (McPherson) Schall.

Jerry honorably served in the US Navy during the Vietnam era and worked as a control room operator at the Keystone Power Plant. He was a dedicated member of Elderton Presbyterian Church and loved spending time outdoors. Jerry was a member of the Masonic Seneca Lodge #805. Jerry spent a lot of his time hunting and trapping, and was also a talented woodworker. Riding his Harley was his favorite pastime and he enjoyed playing softball in the Barefoot Bay Senior Softball League. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 45 years, Karen (Riggle) Schall, whom he married November 28, 1969; daughter, Crystal Schall and fiancé, Patrick Gubitose, of Denver, CO; sons, Bradley Schall and girlfriend, Laura Russell, of Indiana, and Russell Schall, of Shelocta; grandson, Landon Gubitose, of Denver, CO; brother, Michael T. Schall and wife, Cindy, of Indiana, PA; sisters, Merilyn Meyers and husband, Paul, and Becky Elkin and husband, Larry, all of Elderton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.

Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Elderton Presbyterian Church, Elderton, with the Rev. Edward Gray officiating.

Burial will be in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, Pennsylvania, where military honors will be presented by the American Legion Honor Guard.
