Don L. McBride, 88, of Goodlettsville, TN, formerly of Rimersburg, PA, died Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville, TN.

He was born October 17, 1925 in Rockwell City, IA, the son of Stanley Allen McBride and Vivian Louise (Thompson) Farrar.

Don honorably served in the Navy during WWII. He was formerly employed by the Chrysler Corporation where he was a crane operator. Don was of the Free Methodist faith and belonged to the Lakeland Free Methodist Church in Lakeland, FL. He enjoyed farming and taking care of his animals. Don will best be remembered for his love of western novels and his sense of humor.

His memory will be cherished by his wife, Olive(Withenshaw) McBride, whom he married on June 24, 1950; daughter, JoAnne Brant and husband, Rev. Mark Brant, of Goodlettsville, TN; sons Glenn, David and Charles McBride; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margurite Jean (McBride) Lau.

Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM at the funeral home on Friday, October 3, 2014, with Pastor David Stough officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Rimersburg, PA.
