Deborah S. Hankey

Deborah S. Hankey, 63, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at her residence.

She was born August 25, 1951 in Kittanning, PA, the daughter of William A. Mateer and Helen M. (Bish) Davis.

Deborah was a lifetime resident of the Kittanning area and was of the Methodist faith. She previously worked as a secretary for Kittanning Borough and a waitress, and most recently worked as an aide for Helpmates, Inc. In her free time, Deborah enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on puzzles, reading books and watching movies. She loved spending time with her family - especially her grandchildren. Deborah also enjoyed activities with her good friends, such as having lunch with friends and taking day trips with the girls to Smicksburg. She also liked shopping and going to garage sales, and will be best remembered for her wonderful sense of humor.

Her memory will be cherished by her mother, Helen M. Davis and husband, Randy, of Strattanville; husband, Mark A. Hankey, whom she married August 12, 1996; the father of her daughter, Jim Lamison, of Kittanning; daughter, Wendi B. Fuksa and husband, Shawn, of Taneytown, MD; grandchildren, Derek Fuksa and wife, Sara, Matthew Fuksa, Christopher Fuksa and Leah Fuksa; great-grandson, Anakin Fuksa; brother, Bill Mateer and wife, Judy, of Templeton; sisters, Cathy L. Baker, of Cadogan, Jill A. Dosch and Warren, of Verona, and Amy A. Mateer, of Strattanville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; paternal grandparents, Bessie and Sharon Mateer; and maternal grandparents, Norman and Irene Bish.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donald Breghenti officiating.

Interment will be in Mateer Cemetery, Templeton, PA.
